This business provides independent personal financial planning advice and general insurance broking services to members of the BMA, and trades as BMA Services (BMAS).

Commenting on the acquisition, Wesleyan Assurance Society chief executive, Peter McNamara, said: “We are delighted to have reached agreement with the BMA to operate their membership services business, BMAS. Bringing BMAS into the Wesleyan family means we will have a substantial IFA, general insurance, personal loans and credit card business to complement our life, pensions, investment and banking businesses. This is particularly relevant at this time given the potential regulatory and structural changes affecting the distribution of financial and insurance products.”
